With these paintings I am challenging the language of the gallery - ‘don’t touch’, ‘stay behind the line’, ‘don’t get too close’- I am upsetting that concept by specifically requesting that people actually touch the paintings, rub them and then sniff the odour released. Incorporating odours that enhance the visual experience of the artwork.
Ideally these are displayed set in a 30x30cm wall area with an opened barrier security rope, 2 x barrier posts set 75cm apart & 100cm from the wall, ‘PLEASE CROSS’ tape on the floor.
