Through the wide and multifarious scents of India accompanied by a continuous loop of my recordings, Sight Specific is a different way of perceiving art.
The ‘viewer’ is led into the space blindfolded, removing the usual visual side to the artwork, leaving them reliant on their hearing and sense of smell to experience the work.
The smells were created via a myriad of delivery methods, including a curry simmering away, fresh herbs and spices, horse manure and several synthetic smells made with the aid of ScentAir with everything from lemongrass or urine to burning flesh.
